Energy efficiency is a strategic priority for everyone

The European Commission considers energy efficiency as a strategic priority for the Energy Union and promotes ‘energy efficiency first’ as a principle. It proposes to rethink energy efficiency fundamentally and treat it as an energy source. Energy efficiency means using less energy to perform the same task, and it brings a variety of benefits: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing demand for energy imports, and lowering operational costs. Also at COP28 in December 2023, energy efficiency is prioritized. The participating nations collectively commit to doubling the global average annual rate of energy efficiency improvements to over 4% every year until 2030.

The energy efficiency of manufacturing industries is central to achieving decarbonization and sustainability. The manufacturing industries significant energy consumption and costs in EU, accounting for 24,6% of total energy usage. To address this, reducing energy usage per unit produced is vital.

Improving energy efficiency is one of the most cost-effective measures companies can take.
